OUR LOCATION We are located conveniently in the centre of the UK near to the Historic city of Lincoln which is usually our starting out point OUR BACKGROUND We are a small family business situated in the heart of the county of Lincolnshire England and have during the last ten years been engaged in the transportation and recovery of cars and motorcycles throughout the UK by open transporter or trailer, our speciality is in Classic Vehicles. We have carried out numerous collections and deliveries of vehicles from New to Classic Cars and Light Vans on both long and short distance operations. We specialise in the transport of Classic Cars which are in a restored, or unrestored and sometimes delicate state and treat them with the care and respect they deserve. We Transport or Recover Vehicles for Motor Dealers, Restoration Companies, Film and TV locations, Classic Car Shows, Clubs, Motorsport and Private Individuals. Because every vehicle is attended to personally our service is suited to Car Shows and Film locations where waiting time can be accommodated As ours is a small business we are able to provide a personal service tailored to your individual needs and can usually react quickly to your requests and requirements. TO HELP YOU Please note that the following legislation applies to vehicles being "transported" commercially and not to vehicles being "recovered" immediately after breakdown or accident as a different set of legislation covers recovery. We are often asked by prospective clients how to know that the company they choose will carry out the work in a caring and professional manner. The following points will help you decide: Ask how the vehicle will be transported? If it is travelling by trailer ask if a Tachograph is fitted to the towing vehicle ( most important ) as it is illegal to tow commercially without, which may invalidate the insurance or the vehicle and load, that means your car, could possibly be seized by the Vehicle Inspectorate if stopped in a check. If it is travelling by transporter truck ask the gross weight of the vehicle. Most trucks of 3.5 ton GVW can carry cars upto 1.3 or 1.5 tons Trucks over 3.5 ton require a Tachograph and an operators licence for the same reasons as given for trailers. Note: it is illegal to "transport" vehicles on a recovery truck over 3.5 ton GVW unless a Tachograph is used and an operators licence is in force. Discuss the length and weight of your vehicle with them to ensure it is within their legal load specifications and so does not come as a surprise to the operator. ( If you look at the photographs on some transportation websites it is clear some people have no regard for overloading ). Ask if vehicle transport is their main activity or a sideline of another business also ask if they contract out transport to third parties. Remember if your chosen organisation has a cavalier attitude to the law they may have the same attitude to your vehicle.
